South African Retired Person Visa
A South African retired person visa, which is also known as a South African retired person Permit, may be issued to any foreigner who wishes to retire in South Africa, on the provision that such foreigner is able to prove a financial right to a pension, irrevocable annuity, or requirement account with which said foreigner could support him or herself indefinitely while in South Africa.
In order to be granted a South African retired person visa, foreigners wishing to apply will need to provide proof that he or she can derive an amount of R20 000 per month as an income for the rest of his or her life, or that he or she has a net worth equivalent to a combination of assets that will produce R20 000 per month.
The South African retired person visa is only valid for a period of 4 years, but it is renewable. It also allows a foreigners to enter into South Africa on a seasonal or continual basis for more than the standard 3 month limit.
